Nominated Contestant Obligations

(Some obligations are new for 2012 - Please read the entire HHBRA Rules for 2012!)

Novice Adults & Novice Horse Riders:  Please read the rules governing your classes!  You have more record keeping than the other classes.  Please keep a current total of your earnings thoughout the year.  If you win money from another organization, you must put it down at the next HHBRA show.  Keep it accurate & up-to-date.

Each rider nominated for year-end awards is required to collect or pay a $50 sponsorship paid to HHBRA by July 1, 2012. If the sponsorship is not paid, the rider will stop receiving points until it is paid. This sponsorship must be paid separately from entry fees and nomination fees.  Any family sponsoring a saddle will be exempt from this obligation.

Each nominated rider must also attend 5 of the first 8 jackpots with a minimum of 7 jackpots for the year to be eligible for year-end awards.  One award will be given per nomination.  Each owner/rider must work in the arena for one class at each jackpot attended to be eligible for that day's points.

Workers must be inside the arena on the pattern side of the timer to avoid interference with the timer.  Workers may not bring dogs or any other animals the arena with them.

You may walk up to sign in or you may mail in your entry forms or even sign up at the previous show.  All mailed entries must be postmarked 10 days before the show.  Please note that you are not pre-entered unless you have also pre-paid your entry fees for that date.

Entry forms & 4D cards are available on this website.

Mail to:  HHBRA;   PO Box 4;   Fbg., TX 78624

Drag will be determined by a draw.  A number from 1-5 will be drawn.  The first drag will be after that number and every 5 thereafter.  There will be no changes in run order after draw.

Pole bending:  A contestant may run as many horses as he or she wishes, but a horse-rider combination may not run multiple times.  Read more under poles, pg. 4.
